I'm all for making your life easier but I wouldn't want you to slip into a coma*

Sometimes, all it takes is a good line. No, no, it’s not a pick up line I’m talking about here. Sorry Brett.

But just a great smile line. One that has you grinning ear to ear or makes you laugh out loud. Like,

The lights were still red, and on a main road as well. I couldn’t believe it. No wonder London had traffic problems. That was the fucking mayor for you. A coma victim could have done a better job.
(I still love London, but man, you have to smile.)

If they pulled shooters, my hands were going up faster than a porn star’s knob...
(No comment necessary, is there?)

Or how about this one?

She didn’t quite take his head off. She made a Pez dispenser out of him.
(Evokes a lovely image.)

Now, who can name for me the source of those lines?

And here’s a clue: two of the lines come from the same source. And if you know anything about the multiple writing gods I worship, two of them are from one of them. Confused? Me too. But there might just be a prize involved...

*An evilkev line. The king of one liners, especially when we're driving.

I know the bottom two come from the movie you watched the other night... don't want to ruin it for people who know all three. Great lines, though!!! Top one, I've got no clue.
Mama loves her kittens. So sweet!

Have no clue as to the lines...LOL...we don't read or watch in the same genre!

Mommy and baby.....auwwww! How cute!

Oh JT, the bottom one did come from that movie, but it is the top two that come from the same source, and you'd likely be the only one who could figure it out easily, as it's something I mentioned I was reading...

Oui. Will you be sharing your thoughts on DS?

Still reading DS at the moment. If that's the DS you had in mind. Am I lost?
That's what I get for doing weekend flybys.

I gotta say, I don't know the origin of any of those lines, but I love them all. So much so, I can't pick a favorite.

And if you happen to know some good pick-up lines, please share. I've never been too good at implementing the pick-up line thing. To bad you can't just write them down and hand them to a woman...hmmm, on second thought, that might work...

I confess -- haven't a clue where those lines came from, but I'm intrigued. Especially since the title of this book got me reminiscing about a novel I once edited, which contained the line:

"James slipped deeper into his comma."*

(*-character name changed in case the author of this fine tome happens to read this blog...)

The mom-and-baby pic is great. I can see Mama Kitty's thoughts: Hold still, you pesky little devil! I haven't licked your butt yet!

Yeah, Buttons pinned Stuart down and gave him a good butt-licking.

That's funny, that line. The Murder Exchange by Simon Kernick was his second book, with transworld over in the UK. Simon's a fantastic writer - A Good Day To Die was one of my very top reads last year. And I could gush all day because he's not just a great writer, he's a really nice guy.

I only know the third line. Love SIN CITY! Great film. The lines between those two characters (I can only remember the actor's names at the moment) is pure slaughterhouse poetry. Beautiful violence.
