Today's Post Has Been Pre-empted

It was late, past my bedtime and I'd somehow gotten lured back to the computer, found one last email that I typed off a response to, and then went to the bathroom. We have the primary litter box for our cats in there, and Skittles has been really pestering Buttons lately. I could hear something banging, so I went to check it out.

Skittles had been bugging her so much that she'd gone into the litter box, the kind with a cover, and given birth to her first kitten in this litter.

Some of you guys will recall that Buttons lost all three of her kittens back in February. Breech birth, stillborn.

I'm happy to report that all four wriggling, squeaking wonders are doing fine, now ranging from 9-6 hours old, and I'm going back to bed.

The first two are being called Stuart (not because he was born in a litter box) and Russel. Now I have to think of names for the other two.

And seriously, Stuart's post is way better than mine today. First time for everything.

Child's Letter To God

Congratulations to both moms!

I love those letters to God.

I'm glad everything went so well. It's amazing how much four kittens can fill up a house!

Trace, me too. Kids are hilarious.

JT and Jen, thanks - I'm relieved. Last time was such a nightmare and Buttons was so distressed. It was hard not to worry. Fortunately, evilkev was here and handled the births like a pro.

I think the other two should be 'Rickards' and 'Rankin'. Go on - you know it makes sense!

Hmmm, should the all-black one be Rickards, or Rankin?

Very nice! I found a place where you can
make some nice extra cash secret shopping. Just go to the site below
and put in your zip to see what's available in your area.
I made over $900 last month having fun!

Oops, looks like the spammers are back.

I'm glad the birthings went all right, Sandra, but what ignominy, to be born in a litter tray.

Definitely Rickards and Rankin, though Dorothy L Sayers did once give my mum a cat called Lord Peter Wimsey. Perhaps you could name the other two after notable sleuths - Logan, perhaps. Or Marple.

Actually, Marple's quite a good name for a cat, now I come to think of it.

Sorry, I'm rambling again.

Rebus - or have you already used that one?

Congrats to all concerned.

Sandra Ruttan said...

I am fond of the idea of using Rebus.

Come to think of it, Ian Rankin might prefer not to have a cat named after him.

And I don't even know if these are boy or girl cats.

Marple? Hmmm. I have some very cute pictures of the new Stuart MacBride already...

Awe. Lucky you. Got any pics?

I also made over 9 million dollars last month by doing what I enjoy -- eating ice cream.

I think you'd better find out whether they are boy or girl cats before you name them. I know a girl bird called Romeo.

Cute and a little gross at the same time, that's cats all over.

I suggest 'Stay' as a name. You can have hours of fun with it, Steven Wright style.

"Come here ... Stay. Come here ... Stay."

How cute...I love kittens...do you have homes for them or are you going to keep them all?

Sandra Ruttan said...

Erich, you've got to tell me about your business strategy!

Kate, LOL! We're calling the all-black one Rebus because he's got a thing for moving to the corner and keeping his back to the wall.

Well Daniel, Kevin found your suggestion amusing!

Bonnie, no, we don't have homes for them. Since she lost all three last time, we didn't have much confidence in this. And having four is a bit surprising. I don't know what we'll do.

Pictures coming soon!

I just went to a site. Next thing you know a check and a carton of Chunky Monkey arrive at my door. Amazing. Truly.

Lisa Hunter said...

Congrats on the kitties. Why do I have to be allergic to them, rather than, say, horn-tailed lizards?

Sela Carsen said...

Why is it the idea of baby animals gives me an overwhelming compulsion to say things like 'Ooooh, wook at de widdle biddy beebies!!" I swear, I didn't even talk like that to my children!

Sandra Ruttan said...

Erich, which site was that? Although chunky monkey...sounds like something Rickards would like.

Lisa, yeah! Where's the justice? That's not fair!

Wait 'til you see pictures Sela!
