A bit of colour

My plug for Left Coast Crime is below.

Or more like Sandra's love-in, part 2. Part 1 was posted Tueday - Speakeasy, etc.

And because there's a debate about whether or not I look Greek, here I am in colour. Votes welcome.

And dammit, Boy Kim, it was snowing outside and all I was wearing was a t-shirt and an unzipped jacket. I did absolutely nothing unladylike to get such red cheeks.

But the bottom of me was really, really cold.

So what's your ethnicity vote?

Greek? I'm not seeing that. I'm not a Hellenist, though.

Do you have red hair? Looks kind of red in the picture. A little celtic, perhaps.

I don't see Greek either. I do see cold. Like you were trying to hold in violent shivers. (Sorry!) I'd stick with the sepia!

Jason, you're a smartie.

My hair isn't always red red. In the summer my hair gets bizarre blonde streaks and much brown and then some red tossed in. Last year I dyed it dark brown and it still looked red in pictures.

My grandfather was an Orangeman, my grandmother Irish Catholic. They divorced. And on the other side my mother's maiden name is Greaves, which is a line typically from the border regions in northern England, southern Scotland. I'd put my money on the Scottish side because of how my uncle looks and our hair colour, but I never met Grandpa Greaves so I never got to ask.

But somehow, despite the healthy concentration of Scots-Irish lineage, I've got a French surname.

Only in Canada.

And Christa, yeah. Exactly. That's why I'm up in the sepia photos.

Brrrrrrr.

I'd say Celtic, too.

I have somewhat Celtic hair and skin, and Russian cheekbones, as far as you can tell ethnic diversities after centuries of intermarriages all over Europe. :-)

You definitely don't look Greek to me.

My hair is slightly reddish (how reddish varies) and gets blond streaks in summer. My family are from northern England, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Kate, go tell Jason he's been smoking drugs then! You and I are cut from the same cloth then.

You get better looking ever time I er, come by.

How goes the battle. I am alive, kicking, and back in the fray. I won't comment on the Greek statement...

RJ! Darlin'!

Damn it boy, I'm digging out from under, but catching up. By Monday I'll either be three days ahead or a week behind.

Good to see you. I've not made my usual round on the blogs today. Too much time on phones with people re: this legal mess. I hope to catch up this weekend.

I've just re-emerged myself. Catch up...

I'm not particular up on my ethnic genotypes, but I'm not seeing much Greek there. I'd go with the Celticishness.
