A Toronto school shooting has claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy and forced a lockdown as police investigate the incident.
Trench at The Trenchcoat Chronicles (remamed CrimeNe.ws) will probably have all the latest news as it unfolds.

This kind of thing never ceases to shock me. Since I read your post, I've wrestled with whether to comment. What do you say? Nothing can make the family feel any better. I'm sorry somehow seems a little lame considering the horror of the situation. I don't know. I'm not even surprised anymore at some of the things that happen everyday. I hope that doesn't mean I'm becoming inured to it all.
I know what you mean Randy. That's why I didn't say much. What can I add to what I said about gun control only a matter of weeks ago? I told you so? Yes, it does happen in Canada, but only one kid got killed so it isn't big news?
"I'm not even surprised anymore at some of the things that happen everyday. I hope that doesn't mean I'm becoming inured to it all."
I know exactly what you mean.
Well that stinks. It is too bad for the families of the kids involved. It's also sad that every time it happens it becomes a little less shocking-more like when's it going to happen next?
This doesn't seem to be a typical school shooting. That's the only thing I can say so far. One victim and no suspect arrested. I haven't heard further, but it made me wonder if the victim had been targeted.
Thanks for the link Sandra. What amazes me about this shooting is how it's getting no US coverage outside of myself.
Trench, even here the coverage isn't great. It's the old thinking - only one kid died, must not be very important news.
