At least I don't need shampoo

So, I pulled out my hair and did what I could and (hopefully) caught all the major things with the book. It is off and so am I. To the city, to have a break.

Except you can never have a break from your brain.

But raise a virtual glass with me, because the next time I see this from my editor, it should be a printed copy.

Unless I screwed something up royally...

Gee, wonder who this is about? Where does my uncle come up with this stuff?

Dear Abby

My husband is a liar and a cheat. he has cheated on me from the beginning, and when I confront him, he denies everything. whats worse everyone knows it. It is so humiliating. also since he lost his job five years ago he hasn't looked for a new one all he does all day is smoke cigars and cruise around and shoot the bull with his buddies while I have to work to pay the bills. Since our daughter went away to college he doesn't even pretend to like me and hints that I may be a lesbian. What should I do?

signed: clueless.

Dear Clueless;
Grow up and dump him. Good grief woman. You dont need him anymore. You're a United States Senator from New York. Act like it

Thanks to Anne Frasier for this one, although I'm not sure I completely agree. Money doesn't rule my heart. It simply purchases a controlling interest from time to time.

You Are An Ash Tree

You are vivacious and impulsive, which makes you extremely attractive to many.
Intelligent and demanding, you don't care much for criticism.
You have a ton of ambition and talent, and sometimes money rules your heart.
You like to play with fate, and you can be very egotistical and restless.
Demanding of attention, you need love and a lot of emotional support.

do not open the package containing your "first printed copy" without evilkev standing there with a camera to catch the moment!!! Arc copy or not.. I don't think much more will top how you feel about that first copy "as a book"!! then frame it and keep it forever!

DesLily - that's a good idea. But you expect me to wait? You've never seen me at Christmas!

SW, thanks - you know what's funny? I'm looking forward to reading some blogs again. There are tons I missed out on this week. :(

Andrea - wth? I've been having a lot of trouble with blogger this week - locked out of commenting here myself, and I didn't do anything. Weird.

Okay, you got me. I had to go back and read Clueless's story a second time after I realized who it was about.

Congratulations on your debut novel. That is truly exciting! My agent is still hawking my debut non-fiction proposal so keep your fingers crossed.

Don't dump the Hub.

In spite of the vote, some chicks can be really stupid.

The gun is loaded.

How seriously do you want to join the "I'm in touch with my feelingss" crowd.

Samdra,
I'm a Fig tree. Could interpret the accompanying horoscope as: "Selfish Asshole". Hmmm....

I agree with Deslily, have the camera handy. Evilkev too.

Congratulations, Sandra! I'm so happy for your progress on your book!

I'm a Rowan Tree: You are full of charm and cheer. You light up a room. And while you crave attention, you do it without ego. You are an interesting mix of contradictions - and very unpredictable. (My son's dad would agree!) You are both dependent and independent, calm and restless. (My son's dad would agree!)

Fun stuff!

"In spite of the vote, some chicks can be really stupid."

I'm trying to figure out if that's an endorsement for Harper or Bush?

Erik, you aren't a selfish asshole. That's just wrong.

Thanks Elizabeth. I slept yesterday afternoon and went back to bed early last night and slept in late and my brain is officially fried. But it's done.

Congrats on finishing the book! The finished copy is a big relief, because between now and when you get it, you'll probably wake up a zillion times at night and think, "Wait-- did I remember to fix that horrible sentence in chapter 9?" Then you realize, yes, you did.

Can't wait to see it in print.

AH! Lisa's back!

Which means I have to catch up on your holidays.

Believe me, I'm still obsessing. I talked over a scene with Kevin this morning when we were walking the dogs. :(
