My faith in justice has been restored

Paris Hilton was ordered back to jail. You know, I don't give a $H@! about her and if I never heard her name again I'd be just fine. But I have to say I'm glad that someone in the court system has taken a stand to say that the rich aren't above the law.

Although to be honest, she got off easy. She got a slap on the wrist. She gets to keep her hair extensions. She didn't have to have a cavity search. And a medical condition might make jail risky for her? Well, so might her porn performances. I'm sure there are some who'd like to see what she's capable of in person.

Sorry, fresh out of sympathy. And I'm quite alright with being called a bitch for my coldness here.

Oh your not a bitch.
It's not okay for her to get away with this.
Health reasons, pah. What if she killed someone.. Whose health is more important.
She should be banned from driving. And porn...

I think Im going to have to be excused from participating in this topic because...well...you see...its kind of embarrising...I have a rash

I agree Chelbel. Banned from driving and porn. She's a safety hazard in both fields.

Brian... probably already too much information. Amazing what comes up when you talk about Paris though. ;)

Please tell me that low flying joke didnt go over your head.

You know about the rash rumor right?

Sandra Ruttan said...

I guess I'm guilty Brian! Honestly, I almost never read anything about Paris Hilton because a) it disgusts me that she's even considered newsworthy, and b) too many people talk and talk and talk about it.

I'm only saying something because I'm glad she actually got sent back to jail!

So, share about the rash rumour. Tell all.

When she was released that was one of the rumored reasons. That she had a rash.

Darn me and my obscure pop culture jokes.

Dont get me wrong I'm glad that she's back there too. And your right, she is famous for doing nothing

I may have to jump into the fray over at 4ma about Lehane

Nah, it's just me. I'm not very hip. Sorry.

I'd love to hear your take on Lehane... I may hash it out here yet, but to me it's one of those things. There's no right or wrong. People will have different opinions. Only real reason to argue on it is because you want to persuade.

I'm so glad you explained about the rash.. Cringe..
What's jumping into the fray?
Now i'm not with it!

Well, it ends up being a bit more complex that this...it's shaping up as a power struggle between the sheriff (who runs the jail) and the judge who put her in. I've read that ti's actually not that unusual for non-violent offenders in LA to be let out of jail by the Sheriff and placed on house arrest due to extensive jail overcrowding (perhaps the LA contingent here can shed some light on this).

So it may be that Hilton is getting a WORSE deal than the average Joe or Jane.

I've never had any use for her, but that doesn't seem right either.

Jumping into the fray is like jumping into an argument or discussion, or on a bandwagon. I tossed a pebble about Lehane and it's turned into an avalanche.

Dusty, that's interesting. See, if I cared more about Paris I might know this. I read your blog about her the other day and was just so steamed, I almost went on a rant about how there is no justice.

I don't know what to think. But it doesn't matter. By 11 pm there will undoubtedly be more developments in the news. Wonder if people are betting on whether or not she'll get back out?

I guess my "fray is a battle or skirmish..." is no longer needed.

Regardless of what we think of Paris I think that we can all agree that my joke was a bomb.

Thanks. I never heard that expression before.
Credit where it's due Brian. It was funny.

now we get to see if she actually stays in jail!

if it's a power struggle, maybe the sheriff should let out someone else's "minor offense" who has spent more of his time in the jail to make room for Paris?.. just a thought. After all, the judge gave her 3 chances to stay OUT of jail.. gimme a break here.

I don't mind her being in the clink- but something about it has me wondering- are all of us upset that she "got away with it" because she has money reminds us of the privledge we have? Money buys better education, health care etc. If she goes to jail can we tell ourselves that life is fair? Then again she annoys the hell out of me so I don't miss her much.

Be nice to Paris, it's not her fault she's pretty and wealthy and popular.

Sorry, I've been spending a little too much time away from the computer lately. My cynicism is waning.

Pretty? I'd say surgically enhanced.
