Best & Worst Resurrections

In the spirit of Easter, Damon started a thread about the best and worst character resurrections in fiction. Obviously, a discussion topic that will be filled with spoilers, but could be a lot of fun.

I still think the worst of all was that season of Dallas that was a dream... Any that spring to mind for you?

  1. The best, at least for the Marvel universe, was Captain America back in the early sixties. As A teenager, I was enthralled with superheroes and to see the WWII legend found alive in an iceberg and revived made me ecstatic. Hey, I was a teenager. What can I say?

  2. I guess my question is, does his latest death count as the worst?

I think bringing back Sherlock Holmes... not a good idea.

  3. well, ummm, the movie CARRIE.

I remember I saw it on a sneak preview at midnight knowing nothing about it. I hadn't read or even heard of the book. I was sixteen.

That was a long subway ride home from the theatre, let me tell you.

  4. None of the Batman resurrections have worked for me. I liked Daniel Craig as 007 though.

  5. You know comics. Captain America, the real one, will be back. I don't read comics much anymore. No superheroes anyway. But from what I follow on the internet, some people think the new Cap is Frank Castle, better known of course, as the Punisher.

  6. Oh yes. For me, a longtime Sherlock fan, I agree. Some of the stories don't hold up as well after the return. Others disagree. What do I know? I just read.
